Hyperion coming in hot with the two dumbest takes in the thread.

"Dean Lamb's YT channel where he learns to play riffs with his wife is so cute and wholesome"

His channel made me appreciate the band a bit more lol, watch his stuff semi regularly

While they seem like good people the editing is absolute cancer. Like a parody of itself. Makes it unwatchable.

I love his editing lol. It’s goofy but everything he does has a very non-serious vibe so lit fits imo.

On one hand I get it, it's easy to hear the wall of shred and heavily triggered double kicks/gravity blasts and go "ah great more techdeath wank garbage, skip" but like

these guys actually write well-composed and catchy songs to go along with their absurd wall of notes

I think most criticism of tech death is more than fair. I’m generally not much of a fan of the genre myself. But yeah, these guys can actually write, and even emote to an extent with their more melodic moments, and that’s why I have this rated so high.

Bands in this genre can certainly feel soulless, but I don’t get that from this band.

People are entitled to an opinion. For me I can't stand the rapping growling esque vocals but to say this isn't music is a ridiculous statement.

The rapping is probably why they got so big, it's a polarizing incredibly unique component to the band that really makes them standout

Archspire but boring is Exocrine, has a lot of similar components but not nearly as well executed, and not nearly as unique

I never really considered the vocals rapping, just really high tempo growls, kinda similar to what the vocalist from Attila does in some songs. That said, whatever category they're in, I'm not a huge fan of them.

I've always thought the vocals of this band were BY FAR the weakest link

The jab is funny but I'm actually not even close to sure where the Sabaton comparison comes in

Seems like you just wanted an excuse to say Sabaton fans don’t bathe. You don’t need to bash the ‘spire to put down Sabaton fans bro lol

Idk who Sabaton is so ???

Just say the music isn’t your thing, dude. Suggesting that it isn’t really music is such a dumb way to go about it.

Sabaton is the best metal band of our generation, at least according to Smok
