fr who would’ve thought drake would have dropped the better diss track

in my headcanon drake actually sits down and writes all his own diss tracks... makes the whole thing way more fun
that being said i guarantee kendrick will flip the "like that" hook into 'did you write that?' when he inevitably responds

tbh drake has always been pretty great at diss tracks.
back to back not only ruined meek mill's credibility for like five years but was a big hit too. not to mention... all meek mill's biggest songs since that beef literally feature drake.
duppy freestyle was also decent but has been completely forgotten after adidon.
i think the most surprising part is he would actually go after someone who can so obviously out rap him again after getting eviscerated by push

Yeah as someone that’s not super familiar with a lot of rap beefs and just modern rap in general, that pusha t one is the only one I’m familiar with.
So maybe if I get a little break at work I’ll look into those beefs but my god, even as someone that’s kinda on the outside looking in at hip hop in general, that pusha t track was absolutely insane. I didn’t even really listen to him before that track but man it made me a fan immediately

Did you guys see the mariachi version of “metro shut you up ass up and make some drums” on drakes story? Hilarious

Also the height jokes are low but “how you big steppin when you wear a men’s size seven” is a total zinger

“Pipe down pipsqueak” is another complete disrespect lmao. The 50 could be referencing 50 million to buy freedom or 50% of all his profits to Top due to a shitty split in his contract, I think I’ve heard both. “Metro, shut yo hoe ass up and make some drums, nigga” was just hilariously rude and dismissive. Anyways, I feel like there hasn’t been beef this high profile in rap for quite a while, it’s interesting. I’m really rooting for Kendrick to pull no punches and lyrically whoop his ass in the end, though. The time for subliminals and sneak dissing is officially over. The cold war has gone hot.

The Drake song is funny I will admit but yeah Kendrick should disintegrate him and call it a day if he's serious about it

Drake washed Meek but I didn't think Duppy was all that great. I legitimately think Adidon is the greatest diss track of all time. The cover art alone had more venom than the totality of most beefs
I love hating on Drake because it's pretty easy and there are so, so, so many things to make fun of him for. Chief among them is that the dude actually IS talented and IS capable of some damn good work, but instead just......phones it in. It seems like this beef woke him up because it was pretty decent. Excited to hear Kendrick's response

drake tracks better than j. coles but like most diss tracks doesn't have much replay value, i'd say drake tried to hard to make it funny but didn't really get any real jabs in there cept being richer and kendrick being short. I'd give it a passing grade but not worth the hype all of these tracks are getting [including kendricks verse] when so far they're all pretty underwhelming.

I don't think Drake's track was incredible or anything, but it was far better than expected and it was more of a gentle pushback to match Kendrick's. Wouldn't expect any haymakers yet.
What happened with the Push beef wasn't very common, with him basically immediately hitting nuke button lol

The thing about dissing Drake is what can you say that hasn’t been said 100 billion times? If you Kendrick doesn’t secret dirt on Drake like Pusha did, there’s not a whole lot he can say that the masses haven’t said already.

nah man kendrick can't pull any punches at this point. this is the guy that put out the control verse. king kunta. element. dude's been begging for this beef for a decade and now he's finally got it. drake even alludes to an already completed diss track kendrick recorded four years ago but never dropped. its put up or shut up for kendrick. anything less would be a terrible look after drake's track
somebody finally said candyman... and it was drake of all people... so goddamnit i better see candyman
