For sure I will say I love to hear a variety of tunings but think this album suffers more from song structure. Still love it though

yeah i think they went a little too far in the direction of giving every song a hook. i understand the impulse but i think this at its best in the moments where its able to flip around audience expectation a bit. that's part of why the like helicopter spin breakdown on false meridian is the most effective moment for me i think, even though on paper that song is still doing the same thing as everything else pretty much lol

and yeah shade / purity / labyrinthine are the ones that lose me nowadays. id prob put without a whisper in that tier too. doesnt really stick to me anymore
