This is sounding a load better on second listen, damn (first spin phased me out big time).
Has its peaks (perfect opener, Hele/Ulapoi as a huge central highlight), a firm nadir (Rintamaan thru Laineinen meh) and moments that fundamentally disagree with my metabolism (Sydames on tiel woa) and striking moments of darkness (Veden elein oh yeah bby). Not sure how much I love the closer, but agree with the (excellent) review that this is a pretty holistic package. Good shit.

@mkmusic: yeah that's fair! the length works well for me given the themes and the fact that it took over 10 years to record but it definitely takes some dedication to digest it all with no distractions
