I'm really enjoying this. A few gripes are that St. Charles Square feels completely out of place and the last three songs are kinda a weaker stretch (if still nice), but this is also exceptionally listenable and I've felt like coming back to it a lot.

I'm honestly finding this to be one of Blur's best albums, and I'm a huge fan of theirs. It's doing what The Car did for me last year with Arctic Monkeys - both are gorgeous albums.

I'm hooked on Avalon, gorgeous track and arrangement.



Aside from that, I'm not sold yet. This might perhaps be a touch too moody but I've already got some highlights in Avalon, St Charles, Russian strings and of course the narcissist.

The Magic Whip was easier to get into and more upbeat overall, this one is less fun to listen to IMO. Maybe that's why some people didn't get into it that much.

I loved this on release but it grew more on me. It's not a masterpiece by any means but it feels very genuine.
