Yeah I’m not perfect on this band, I’ve got into albums at different times and ‘Arc’ is not one I’m as knowledgeable of I guess, I’m sure I’ve listened to it ten or so times but it probably needs revisiting. There’s a quality in the first two albums that would have stopped them ever being a band I gave too much of a shit about but somehow Get to Heaven shook it off is the best way of putting it. I can’t even really zone in on exactly what it is but it’s there, something maybe in the song structures and overall delivery.

The transitions in ‘Mad Stone’ sound natural - the debut I returned to today and it sounds too piecemeal - I honestly think they’ve just got better at all this stuff now.

Some of the debut is close to unlistenable for me.

Jennifer is not one of the weaker songs on RDF - it's beautiful

Yeah Jennifer is like a top 10 or 20 EE. I wish more people felt the same way I do about Metroland Is Burning. That’s probably my third favourite track on RDF, crazy overlooked. That and Don’t Try are two of their biggest hidden gems

It finally clicked today. Great album. Might still prefer RDF though.

I actually like TV dog. Very Kid A. I couldn't find a single skippable track. Maybe some of the weaker songs might be R U Happy, Canary, The Witness?

@Gyro - callback to one of your earlier comments, Your Money My Summer is 100% a grower like Jennifer. It might be my favourite from Mountainhead now

I actually now think the two closers don't do much for me, but the rest was very enjoyable.

Saw them in Leeds last night and they were excellent - wont spoil what the setlist was in case they do the same for Manchester, but I was very happy with most of it.

Glad it was good! I've avoided anything setlist related, I'm hoping for a Mountainhead heavy setlist with an even spread of their back catalogue in there too (though I'm sure it'll be mainly GTH and RDF).
