I didn't like the lyrics on here much at all (nor Midnights). Can't say I agree with you on them being brilliant. Wish I could see what you see, Sowing. :-(

This is just… like so generic. Genuinely don’t know what you see in this, Sowing. Massive downgrade from past albums like Speak Now and Folklore, and even then those aren’t rly that good.

So High School is lyrically a mess but sonically a highlight.

This whole thing feels like a star collapsing in on itself if it feels like anything at all

God, fuck off. We were the one publication that could have countered the endless Swift circlejerking with writers too afraid to criticize her out of fear of her rabid fans, and instead we contribute to the problem. We can use aliases as staff. We could have tanked the Metacritic score. But no, we get outclassed by Paste and NME, who had the balls to do what we didn't.

Lol Sowing is chilling and enjoying the album without realising he has the world on his shoulders.

@ovmunster I’m gon give you the benefit of the doubt and assume this is satire. Because if it’s not you need to run off and join the circus immediately

no gyro I completely agree but personally attacking sowing when we know he wouldn’t put out a hack review like that ain’t the move

Sowings got weird taste for sure but like, if we pulled up 90% of users 5’s we could all have a nice little roast session.

While listening to this, I feel like I'm being tortured alongside the poets.

In all seriousness, this is easily the worst T-Swift album I've heard in full, even if most of it is vaguely serviceable. So samey, and the moments that do something different almost always have glaring flaws. The lyrics aren't as bad overall as some are saying, to me, but there's plenty of laugh-out-loud lines which are often at really inopportune times.

I do appreciate that Sput often resists the big publication trend to almost always give famous acts high scores, but staffers obviously have to follow their own heart on what they think is great and what's not, and it's not fair to expect anything else. Much love, Sowing.
