It seems at least superficially that Taku Unami's use of installation platforms in his 2011/2010 works
Motubachii and
Teatro Assente was a perfect conpliment to the semantics of his aesthetic. It is not however a compliment, for a closer examination reveals it to be just an invaluable organ to the bifold bodies of work. The plays on "silence" noted hereby represent hollow interlaces nor of the theretically pure nor
Cagean sense. Allusive in
I Ching trapeze indeterminacy, acrobatics and the like - while unintentionally dramatic fluctuations subvert silence 'icons' amidst the fashion parallel, the crosshatches, the quasiexistent landscape.
The sense is almost multifariously tackling on shapes, mainly to pretend there is an audience over there or here when there really isn't. To countertrade Cage's silence, like xenakis ( the rym user not the composer himself!) proposes on his
Principio Sugimatica review as
Wittgensteinian silence; only a sound which detached from a "bigger picture" (referent to Feldman's Cripplin' Symmetries) can grant us the semblance of this premise: for when it is able to do it it also freeds both independency and justified automacy. Maybe it isn't enough and doesn't just 'work,' it cannot simply just "work," perhaps the conceptual failure which succeeds is inherently contradictory. If it where maybe there... it could've been oh well something less of a mundane nature or of vague sort stage melodrama to ejaculate the crystalline silence.. I'll imagine Unami's casual remark-metalish squiggly riffage near the end of
a metal object colored with green after a while green and black to be a form of temporary (and if not aptly suspenseful) performance tension facilitator. As can be seen on early performance art too, an artist's centerpiece can very well be 'silent,' wherein conscious movement and the sounds of puking or feces about to happen relinquish the fluxus axiom as or like a symbolic tool; Claudio may be right in that after all this is Post-EAI and an empty theater.. but not in how alluring they are to spectate, a beauteous enigma.
