Somehow the American Scene manage to dive headfirst into the indie punk scene and manage to make it work out, for the most part. As expected from their last EP, comparisons to the Dangerous Summer are inescapable (most particularly in the vocals but also in the atmospheres crafted by their instruments). The vocals are also very similar to that of Maker (which doubtlessly harkens back to the Godfather of indie punk, Brand New). They are not just another indie punk band, however, the production is excellent (for one thing) and the vocals are clearer. Nothing was overly moving, but it remains consistently interesting throughout the whole album.
