It's very hard to find a really awesome 80's album from start till the end. They are a few of them. Well, among them, Once Upon A Time is one of those great albums. A lot of passion in their music, a lot of inspiration ... and that thing which is matter the most: a lot of musical knowledge by all the Simple Minds members, all of them are really awesome, the bass player (John Giblin) is the icing on the cake. Too bad that this is their only really great album. The rest, are really ok, they have awesome tracks ... but not all of them are at the highest level, as we can find here.

A classic no doubt about it a lot of people did not like the transition from new wave and avant-garde rock to arena rock, even if the transition started two albums before this one. I just feel everything gelled in this one... but the best part of the album was just how the song grew and mutated live, it was just awesome, Oh Jungleland, Alive and kicking and all the things she said just shine live!
