Review Summary: "I wanna be haunted"

You know dreams can find ways to remind you of things you wanna experience or relive again. This dream i keep having lately brings total bliss, I don't wanna leave it. When i wake up i just feel lost and long for the feeling again and without sleeping, this is as close as i can get.

"Teen Suicide" is a lo-fi Rock/Pop/Emo four piece from Maryland. On this debut album they incorporate simple but effective guitar work of mostly small riffs and chords, along with the use of a sampler that adds needed depth along with the lo-fi but mostly clear production, which benefits the overall sound they strive for.

While lyrical content is mostly straight forward rather than subjective it works with its quirkiness even though often dealing with depressive subject matter,it still often puts melody at the forefront with frontman Sam Ray's commendable pipes hence the "Pop" element. It mixes nicely and never come off as forced or contrived.

Two highlights are "doing all the things i used to do with people, part 2" . Starting with a lo-fi beat combined with eerie sounds-capes along the way. The simply played "Am" an "fmaj" guitat chords complement Sam's somber vocals throughout an mesh well ending with him emotionally admitting "I won't get clean for the rest of my life" followed by "I won't be nice" before exploding into haunting noise. Along with the song "salvia path" which samples "Marvin's Room" by Drake. Its a distorted, mid tempo banger, that delivers an infectious looping melody that brings fun, obscure, lyric ramblings into the mix about convincing a girl to stop hating herself.

Part of what makes this album great an work so well is that even though its at times, "simple" all the elements come together perfectly and makes the songs stick with you in a variety of ways and sounds, even if you can't connect to them emotionally. Whether it be the catchy, repeating gloomy chorus in "Haunt me" or the garage rock jam in "lonely boy goes to a rave" to the straight honesty of the "everything is going to hell" acoustic ballad. There's no gimmick or certain structure, every song is unique while still containing the same similar vibe and melon collie feel. With no track ever reaching three minutes of length, no song ever overstays or drags at anytime so it makes repeated listens come easily, and overall add to its lasting appeal.

So while trying to get as close as I can to my euphoric dream like state feels superb. Its nice to just be content with being awake, even though it can be hard to not want to just try an stay there.

I kinda rushed this, I felt i had problems describing the 2 songs mentioned an giving this a proper

closing. I'm sure there is a lot of grammar issues, I'm rusty on it and have not written or typed

anything in a long time, let alone tried to review something.

Would love pointers, help, and constructive criticism.

I also wasn't sure if i could go back an edit reviews
