Definitely one of the most original albums from the past few years, combining low-fi recordings of simplistic, yet effective performances of "organic" instruments (pianos, guitars, etc) with B L A C K I E's trademark yelp-raps, GEN proves exactly how far creativity and "thinking outside the box" can go. Still, this is an experimental album, and with all experiments, negative results are prevalent. Some songs feel like useless filler, and the transition between many tracks is nothing short of frustrating. Still, this is an incredibly intriguing album that I would recommend to anyone looking for something different. [Recommended Tracks: Everybody Knows (When We Get Together), False Marriages, Hometown Blues]
