Review Summary: Dance to the beasts.

To explain how does Bestial Mouths feel is a hard thing to do. On their self-titled LP their menage to realize a dark and abrasive heavy noisy goth sinth, I don’t know, rock? It brings a strong note of post-punk, with the reverberated and somehow apocalyptic vocals, mantra sometimes. And with a heavy cyber-punk flavor in the mechanical beats and distorted electronic effects.

Actually Bestial Mouths sounds like a cyborg. The organic human feel, mixed and distorted with a big mass of stylish artificial content. It all sound like a big SCI-FI experience, able to represent a whole lot f human experience put in its most extreme condition.

Alien like keyboard with under distributed tribal drums, then a a noisy and droning explosion whispered with tension. I don’t really feel able to write about the details of every song; the album goes from the mantra and robotic start with the incredible 'Ceased', thorough the heavy beats of 'In Empathy' till it gets to the dark goth sensual ritual of 'Earth'.

It sounds like witches enchanting songs with technological arsenal. Gadgets of copper and fire. Oh, and it echo over and over, with drums and the voice looping on its own tiny repetitions. The Beats are huge. The band mix very well the tension between the styles. It has details, try to understand the pattern included in the range of the dark bold sounds of the drums to the soft keyboard working. And the post-punk lyricism goes so well with Lynette vocals almost screamed, very high and not lacking superb sometimes.

The songs, one after another construct an environment of its own and traces to each others aftertaste and ritual energy.

It has groove and energy and still keeps dark.

Oh, forget that, just dance to it.
