For someone who has never been very good at his publicized stock and trade, it's refreshing
to hear Biome step away from the confines of deepblogstep. Beginning where Spawned
left off, listening to Layers is akin to hearing Blawan discovering techno - Biome,
in discarding the tired tropes and formats of his homebase, has easily crafted his most
memorable release yet, and one that is more than aptly named
