With the last full length album Never, Universe217 solidified their upward course, a course that was rewarded by acclaim outside the premises of Greece and a contract with Van Records, one of the most esteemed European independent labels. Their first release for the new label is the Ease EP in which the band leaves aside the electric feedback and treads on a more laid back and introvert road. A few months ago, Universe217 arranged a special release party where the EP was brought to life in its entirety, and reports spoke of a quite intimate experience. That's the merit and the shortcoming of this EP at the same time; Just like great movies truly live and breathe in the dark halls of a theater, the EP works perfectly during a live concert where the attention is focused exclusively on the band's visual and sonic arrangements. On another note, it's also fitting for those (more and more) rare occasions of the day, where the light is starting to grow dim, the everyday abstractions are absent, and the listener is left with his/her thoughts and a pair of good headphones.
