Review Summary: The greatest Math-Rock album I have ever listened to… ever.
I remember the first time I got into mathrock-ish music in the form of The Speed of Sound in Seawater. I was blown away by the TSOSIS but I craved something a little more complex; thankfully I stumbled upon this gem of an album on YouTube. At first it was a little too much for me to digest as the album on first listen feels chaotic and random but the band really stood out to me and for the next couple of weeks I would try to listen to as much of the album that I could bear. As I listened to Unutella more and more I began to understand that the music was carefully crafted not random as it seemed; after this "enlightenment" I knew that it was the best Math-Rock album I had ever listened to, maybe even ever.
All in all this album is the perfect mix of Jazz-Rock, Math-Rock, and Post-Rock with the best mix of mellow and hard hitting, with 7 songs in total (although the album seems to be one giant song; yes, its flow is that good) with it clocking in at just under 35 minutes (my only complaint). I would recommend this album to anyone in general who wants to listen to something drastically different than what's on the radio.
