Something's fucky here. Alesana's new album is actually pretty good. I mean, its still melodramatic bullshit about Edgar Allen Poe, but that's a pretty cool concept. The high cleans no longer sound like a teenager wailing, the screams are pretty good, and the instrumentation is entertaining throughout.

I'm still debating with myself whether I like A Place Where the Sun is Silent or Confessions better. Nevertheless, this album has the edge when it comes to lyrical content. The lyrics are above average and the concept they intend to portray was well executed. Musicianship is topnotch too! rThis is a huge step forward for Alesana.

I've always enjoyed Alesana's music and they certainly aren't as bad as people say they are. But Confessions is easily their best album, by far.

i was really disappointed with this album. I absolutely LOVED The Emptiness in 8th grade but while I appreciate the finishing of the Annabel story, this album seemed like a huge mess. everything was so complicated its difficult to follow and just ends up kind of muddled. Sometimes simplicity is more effective. I don't know, maybe I've grown out of Alesana.

The music is very good but I feel that sometimes the vocals get to clustered and loose the flow, gotta say fatal optimist is one of my favorites a little twist on their sound. It's a good album but not a solid way to end the trilogy.

Wtf how does this have a 3.9 right now? Are you people deaf? The Emptiness is far better than this junk, the singing is as girly as ever, screams are laughable, and this is totally void of any good melodies, clever songwriting, or connectivity. This LP and their recent EP are the worst things this band has ever released, yet somehow they are the highest rated. Unbelievable.

This album has some of the sickest breakdowns. This was a good album, they've been pretty hit or miss with me throughout their career but this one definitely hits the sweet spot.

It was a dark and stormy, but sort of comfortable night. Alesana, after realizing that they were falling further and further away from relevancy as they knew it, had no choice but to make a comeback with the newest addition to this dreary catalog of theirs. To give the band credit, Confessions is a mostly tolerable effort on Alesana's part. It might have what can easily equate to an overall dated sound and the vocal performances this time around are more boring than cringeworthy (hearing Craig Owens jam his voice up your ears and ass will eventually do that), but rest assured the musicianship is the most enjoyable characteristic. This post-hardcore act may become virtually respected after all if they take the latest offering's musical direction a step further on future releases, all while reducing cliches in the process; oh, we could just dream. Recommended songs: "Comedy of Errors," "The Puppeteer," "The Martyr," and "Catharsis".

Need to give a more in depth listen before rating, but from what I've heard Comatorium is spot on
Edit: Not bad, but not that great either. Got some sparks of good things generally marred by some
of the vocal performance and reliance on generic elements (aka breakdowns)
