Review Summary: This review brought to you by Story Scouts of the Apocalypse
In the dysfunctional possibly schizophrenic world we live in, the rise and fall, or perhaps evolution of a sub-genre can fade away finding itself classified as obsolete fairly quickly, leaving a lot of bands forgotten in the wake.
When it comes to the history of Earth Crisis, they were once Sputnik user Balls to the Wall approved, so that makes them timeless. We need this band now more than ever. They will surely have some wisdom to impart in 2020 from their not so old prophecies of the year 2000. A band that had the courage to release an album and defy the promised apocalypse of 2K meltdown fever can surely be looked up to as masters of truth.
It seems like aspects of hardcore, metalcore, and hardcore punk litter this album with excellent observations, or possibly advice, all screamed, shouted, sung. It's kind of rough on the ears and not necessarily catchy unless they are ripping off styles of other bands so they must be really concerned about something! Let us take a look at the lyrics!

Human wolves slowly train the human cows to repress instinct and run into their mouths
Slither, can't deny it's real. Resist mind control."
Well that is alarming, but that's from the lead single 'Slither' so they must be making a grandiose gesture to get attention and make that muh muh muh muh muh moneyyyyyyy. It had that little bit of singing to show that it was a single lol. It was probably a finished song and they added that one little part to sell the song.
Maybe another song can give actual advice and not terrify me.

Well, that didn't help. Gonna have to keep waiting for a song that doesn't make me feel hopeless.
On the bright side there is a song called Nemesis. The chorus reminds me a lot of Alice In Chains. It's probably the best song on the album just because of the chorus, the breakdown at the end really gets intense as if they band is trying to scream WE ARE NOT RIPPING OFF ALICE IN CHAINS, before going back into another AIC chorus. Ugh.
This bands ***ing name is Earth Crisis it's about time I get some ***ing advice from them about what to do in such a situation that their name suggests. I would have thought they'd be experts but it almost comes off as hysteria-inducing sensationalism that probably was bottle fed to Alex Jones as a baby.
Oh *** another chorus, this one sounds like Fear Factory!
Damn they really are trying to sell the fact that they can inject some singy choruses into their brand of hardcore metalcore that fans of heavy music passed over for…uh…whoever the *** was also doing hardcore and metalcore in 2000? Those people.
Maybe it was the awful lyrics. Turns out when there's an Earth crisis you get a lot of hyperbole phrases added in to make situations worse not better. People didn't even know what kind of music they liked in the 2000s anyway, unless they were from Europe. Earth Crisis knew they liked the choruses of other bands songs though.
Still, it's not awful.
