Modill does what he does well. He's got a good flow, good beats, good ideas, and good energy. And that's it. Nothing on Midnight Green ever surpasses the level of "good" that Modill seems so comfortable at. Glitchy pianos and guitars are sampled behind his smooth vocals. Oh, and the guest spots? Yeah, those are good too. If you want a hip-hop album that defines the word good, look no further than Modill's Midnight Green.
