0.0 | tresm87 | October 23rd 15 | An outstanding promising ep from this nu metal revival act. Psychotic and bouncy in the vein of true nu metal. These guys are going to make a name for themselves in the future, and this is an unbelievable start.

3.0 good | Jared Floryan | June 29th 16 | Why, hello there again, late 1990s. New Orleans-based nu-metalcore entourage Cane Hill manage to pull off on their debut EP what acts such as Attila and From Ashes to New could only dream of doing - only for the latter to come up short in the end. Released in 2015, the band's self-titled extended play doesn't sound all that fresh considering its most prominent style has been milked dry, though it does offer acceptably entertaining moments. Appropriate, youthful energy is felt through the instrumentation and Elijah Witts' general vocal performance, but the songwriting is unfortunately more or less a joke here; excluding "Gemini" and "French 75", the other tracks that make up Cane Hill aren't too memorable or lack substance, with "Sunday School" in particular capable of eliciting many a groan. Bottom line: this four-piece outfit demonstrate fine enough potential on their very first recording, and I hope they've got what it takes to rectify that one major setback which restrains the EP.

0.0 | MrBoom | July 24th 16 | Cane Hill released the Single "Sunday School" on October 8th 2014. Originally the band was going to release a full length album titled "Gemini" but the album fell through. In August of 2015 Cane Hill dropped the extremely popular track "Time Bomb" featuring Scout formerly of Issues. Cane Hill officially announced a upcoming self titled EP to come out in October of 2015. Cane Hill's debut effort has some awesome tracks including "Sunday School" and "Time Bomb" and "Gemini" among others. Cane Hill bring a trip of nostalgia for fans of late 90's early 2000's Metal, You can hear influences from Korn, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, Powerman 5000 and others. I would recommend this EP over the band's debut LP '"Smile" from earlier this year!

4.0 excellent | Cr1TiKaL | October 25th 15 | On Cane Hill's Self-titled EP, the band so aggressively throws to the table everything they do very well and every thing they do very poor. Cane Hill finds itself with a handful of tracks that sound very different from each other and are very enjoyable at that. The instrumentation, for the most part, range from above average (leads and bass) to boring and uninspired (drums and small electronics.) The vocal aspect of this disc presents itself as a fork in the road being that the lead singer has a terrific range and diversity in his vocals, but has a lack of talent in the lyrical department. Overall, Cane Hill is a very fun group of tracks that would get any avid nu-metaller jumping.
