I Still Do is a worthy addition to Slowhand's long catalogue simply because it doesn't try to do more than it's required from a 71-year old bluesman at this point of his career. Eric Clapton, even more than a performer might be a student of the blues, so it's not surprising that the main body of his latest offering comprises of covers from different blues styles. Taking under consideration Eric Clapton's age and recent health issues, retirement might just be around the corner after every new LP he releases. However, with age comes wisdom and on I Still Do we can listen to a man who feels comfortable in his own skin and this feeling is exactly the album's redeeming quality.
