Everybody loves "Nicoman," and for good reason. It's as close to pop as Gang Gang Dance can get while still maintaining their reputation. "Oxygen Demo Riddim," while lovely, is the only disappointment here, considering their last release had more of this same style; this is simply a shorter version of the mindfucking sampled tendency of Retina Riddim. Finally, "The Earthquake That Frees Prisoners" is wholly immersive and prophetic. It's easy to picture it fitting within the flow of a full album. Overall, this is a great sampler of what's being worked on and what's to come. I don't expect anything less than brilliant when the time comes for a full album.
