It's crazy the amount of music Travis Miller made before he became the underground sensation known as Lil Ugly Mane, but that's what register is here to tell you. There's Mystery Department, which was a one-off weird phone-call based ambient project. Silver Crumbs, which was based in ambient and industrial. Seidhr, which was a very noisy black metal project Miller claims was made using only Fruity Loops. Across and Public Garden, two harsh noise/power electronics outfits, the former of which has a decent lot of music under and the best stuff on this here comp. Rats, which was more a drone project. And finally Confident People, which was Miller's attempt at post-punk in a coldwave style that he claims was made as a parody more than anything. None of these particular endeavors were world beaters (although Vorare from Across is pretty damn sweet), but their all at least solid if a bit amateurishly constructed. I'm not sure even the man himself knew what music he'd eventually make back in 2005 when he recorded Seidhr's Majesty Of Disease, but I suppose that's what makes register an interesting listen.
