I sort of like the instrumentals albeit they're not that fresh or engaging. Maybe 2.5 material. It's the lyrics though. They're just absolute Tumblr garbage and they completely ruin the record. There is nothing thought provoking, catchy, or even interesting about them at all.

This is just bad. It would be at least one thing for the music to be redeemable compared to the lyrics, but both of them are just as trash. This is like a really shitty musical smoothie made out of watered down hardcore, poor vocals and the cringiest, least intellectually provoking tumblr posts you could gather. This is pandering at its finest (finest being a very relative term).

Some of my friends are friends with this band, so while I'm aware there is a point of
contention is the lyrics, I can assure you that they are from an honest place given the
vocalist's real life experiences. That said, I cannot defend anything else about this
record. There are a couple songs I can find enjoyment in, but nothing I would even consider
listening to on my own time. Nothing on this record is
unique or interesting even within its genre. The instrumentation is mediocre if not generic
(though it is performed well enough) and the lyrics could have been written much better than
they are. They range from being somewhat passable to laughably bad and are unfortunately
more on the latter's side of the spectrum. Still, I can't say there's zero potential here.
Maybe they'll grow on the next record, but I can't say this makes me hold my breath.
