Review Summary: If Chaos and Confusion is what Santeri Lohi wants us to experience, I think he indeed has succeed here, creating this wicked & sickening sound that the entire family is most certainly not to enjoy.

My love for discovering new things has led me to this release by Finnish one man band led by Santeri Lohi. I found my self instantly alienated but having a look to the album's admittedly well written press release, I've decided to dig deeper and give it a chance having a few more listens, to the point I dedicated some time to put this review together. So Mr. Lohi mentions how he's dedicated in putting together the most horrific sounds together to express his fragmented inner world, and no matter how painful is the experience of the recording, he is certain people can relate deep down inside. Well played!

I honestly think, that while it sounds rough, that's the sort of alienation someone would feel when they'd first encountered NIN back in the day!

Some Dodheimsgard influence can be spotted, some brutal death vocals are appearing now and then.. Lyrically some songs would fit the tag Murder Metal, Macabre have first introduced. It's a bit like Burzum has gone alternative for lack of better comparison.

The clean vocals although monotonous, they have some interesting moments, but the way they are produced is rather problematic to my opinion, without being an expert or anything.

In all honesty there are some mind blowing parts in there like the riff that enters in 1:22 on Funeralblossoms, or some very interesting soundscapes and oscillations in the background of every track.

The record is unique for one, and if it was better produced I think it could have made a serious impact in the counter-culture.
Personally it's not my cup of tea, but there is audience for this, and I personally know a few people that would really enjoy it.

If Chaos and Confusion is what Santeri Lohi wants us to experience, I think he indeed has succeed here, creating this wicked & sickening sound that the entire family is most certainly not to enjoy.

I really dig the atmosphere on this record, but like you mentioned the vocals are problematic; they are too high in the mix and sound quite dry in contrast to the backing instruments. Had he dialed them down a bit, slapped some chorus/reverb, and it think this record would pack a lot more punch.
