3.3 great | manosg EMERITUS | May 15th 18 | Anyone who is familiar with Axel Rudi Pell knows what to expect from the veteran axeman by now; hard rock with AOR and neoclassical tendencies that brings to mind a mix between Ritchie Blackmore and Yngwie Malmsteen. However - and even though there is a feeling of deja vu throughout the album - Axel is so talented that once again provides us with a very enjoyable effort that doesn't lack great guitar leads, solid songwriting and an overall epic atmosphere. Of course, it wouldn't be an Axel Rudi Pell LP if there wasn't any fat that could be trimmed but overall, this is a really good release with an albeit limited replay value.
