4.0 excellent | Friday13th | November 29th 18 | I'm skeptical about the whole "microtonal" selling point. I can certainly hear microtones here and there, but the moment you sit down and play the majority of the "good" melodies on the piano (like on Droplet), you realize it's mostly just ordinary 12 tone music masqued in a thin veneer of microtones (in other words, he's playing the most normal sounding notes he could find in the microtonal scales). Still, while not as extreme as Harry Partch, the microtones add a dash of flavor to make it a unique electronic record worth hearing.
