Slowthai was still playing with his boogers when Dizzee Rascal released Boy in Da Corner, and he certainly had time to digest it. Nothing Great About Britain is very Bri'ish, evoking Dizzee, The Streets, a snarky punk attitude, and that working-class idgaf-ism taken from The Prodigy.

Still not 100% sure if this record ends with Northampton's Child and the rest is bonus? Either way, 'Nothing Great About Britain' is extremely consistent whether or not both discs are included as slowthai navigates through political issues in Britain with an aggressive style. The beats are a mix of grime and grandeur with strings often accompanying slowthai's anger as well as guitars, choirs and booming UK bass. 'Doorman' is one of the best hip hop tracks of recent memory.

Absolutely love this. Really forward thinking and just its own thing. The beat on the title track is so weird, I can't get enough. Really high quality throughout, slowthai fuses a lot of different sounds and genres to produce something really special. If he can top this I'll be really impressed, amazing year for UK rap. Generally speaking I like it the most when it is hype but Toaster is absolutely amazing. I crank the fuck out of Northampton's Child whenever it comes closing.

really great listen. the instrumentals are great and compliment slowthai's voice really well. i am not usually a fan of grime but this hits different. fav track- missing

rIn addition to possessing the character traits of the native land of Punk, i.e. spirit, attitude and being unconventional, Slowthai has an atypical voice/accent and a crazy talent. In the midst of a social crisis, linked to Brexit in particular and with the life subjects he describes and tells us in these songs are perfectly interpreted and come at the right time because it makes him interesting content. This album is original, it uses the grime bases installed by The Streets essentially for its own use to make its own sauce. The atmosphere is gripping and ruthless and with all this he manages to ironicize, it's amazing. There's almost nothing to throw away in the album (with 17 tracks, that's strong) even if I find that sometimes towards the end it tends to drop slightly.
