10 years ago, I never would have thought that Aaron Turner and Brian Cook would be making free improv with Keiji Haino, but here we are and I'm loving every minute of it.

Offered here is what I would consider to be a disorienting and hellish atmosphere of noise. Interestingly enough, I consistently found peace in this atmosphere - despite there being almost nothing traditionally peaceful about it. The growling bass, unrelenting drums, and occasional shouting from Haino all come off as harrowing on their surface, but in some strange way there is relaxation and enchantment to be had within their fury. Maybe it all has a primordial feeling to it that hits a certain primitive sweet spot in the back of the mind - who knows. I'm not sure what I'm ultimately getting at, but this record is good. 76/100
