Even more Doors influence coming forward as opposed to the punk sense that was colliding with it on their debut. They still know how to deliver the noisy jams, but the folkier twist on things is rather fantastic and makes for more memorable songwriting. They seem to really be acknowledging the 60s and 70s garage rock though with an especially grungy sound. When jack Endino was talking about what grunge was to him, he described it as 70s hard rock evolving with a punk attitude and a healthy respect for noise; I think he may have been describing The Screaming Trees perfectly. They aren't necessarily rehashing their influences, more updating them with a punk attitude and outlook. Overall, this is the place where The Screaming Trees truly begin to find their sound and use it to it's potential. They meld 60s and 70s psychedelia almost perfectly with punk rock, but they still had a little ways to go in terms of songwriting.
