It appears as though this band has broken up, sucks to hear that, this was a pretty fantastic debut release that really showed a lot of promise for this band. Gives me a real old-school Between the Buried and Me vibes in a modern production type of sheen. While I like a lot of this album, there's still a lot that doesn't connect, some portions can get lost in their own chaos, maybe Btbam are a little better at balancing that chaos with listenability. The intro song to this album though is a real showstopper, at 9 minutes in length, it gives little room for anything to possibly become boring in the slightest. Maybe after this song though they expel a LOT of their toolkit at their disposal and the rest of the album feels not quite as fresh. There are glimpses of Dillinger Escape Plan influence on this, The Contortionist, there are just a TON of things going on with this album and so much nuance. This album really scratches the itch of something really similar to old-school Btbam that I have been looking for for a long time, and this album absolutely achieves at impressing me in this sense, though maybe it's not the most original thing in the world, as they really wear influences on their sleeve, which diminishes it's originality. Overall, this is a really great release from this band, just really really sucks that they split up, because this was really quite something.
