The second entry in Hammill's "new wave" trilogy still contains a few tracks worthy of the predecessor, such as the insane "Porton Down" or empathetic "Not for Keith", but there are also songs that feel unfinished (particularly the last three) or just poor ("The Old-School Tie", "Handicap and Equality"). pH7's sound is every bit as genuine as that of The Future Now, but at the end of the day its songwriting leaves the listener unsatisfied.
