Labrie completely misses the point of thrash metal vocals, he may not have a great voice, but neither does Dave Mustaine. Mustaine, however, manages to pull it off because he has the attitude of a guy wbout to wreck shit up. Labrie on the other hand sounds like a grandmother knitting sweaters in some cottage in some dopey children's book.

This album is not bad, I mean, it is one cover for an epic metallica album. The instrumental part is excellent (How expect different from john and mike?) but the vocals just don't fit, specially if you have already heard the original album

well this is not some bad stuff but what actually ruins the cover is labrie voice.It is very not appropriated to pure thrash metal.

Instrumentation is picture perfect, but LaBrie's vocals just aren't up to par. Worth checking out however.

The music on this live cover album is almost note perfect. Petrucci emulates both Hammett and Hetfield with incredible precision it's hard to believe it's different people playing. Myung also provides good bass - more audible than Burton on the original, and Rudess I assume helps enhance the guitars, and it sounds seamless. Portnoy is also great playing Lars' drum beats.
It's a shame then, that the vocals of LaBrie simply do not fit this album. They sound SO forced and it really lets the album down greatly.
Still entertaining, though. Reccomended for diehard DT (or Metallica) fans only.
