3.0 good | ajcollins15 | March 23rd 21 | There is definitely something here and the band continues to be one of the most interesting post-rock bands out there. Laced throughout this record is a lot of driving post-rock guitars with some breathtaking jazz and orchestral arrangements to go with them. However, my biggest issue with this album is how flat everything can sound after a while. None of the production on here really pops and everything comes off super dry. It doesn?t help that this album can be a bit of a chore when the more explosive parts are not taking place. I will say though that is a huge issue I have with post-rock as a whole. So overall, for me, this is one of the more interesting post-rock albums and I really believe this band can pull something together.
