I'm a metal fan, however the genre was getting stale with rehashes of old bands cluttering up the scene. The very reason I shunned pop and mainstream music was happening to my favourite genre. A lack of creativity. Then one evening, I went to my local bar in 2008 to watch a band I'd never heard of, with an essay for a name. Didn't have high hopes. Then they played this album in it's entirety. It's melodic, atmospheric, emotional, esoteric and beautiful. It's exactly what I'd been looking for musically for so long. For an instrumental album, it is phenomenal. The absence of vocals means you can truely get lost in the music. The Machine being a personal highlight, but for me, the whole album is a classic.
