Informatik takes an interesting turn in sound on their album Beyond. Instead of the heavy ebm/industrial sound, Informatik almost cheers up with a more rock and arena sound. In other words, guitars are more abundant than ever and we are even treated to almost live sounding drums. There is still synth use, but this time around it has decided to sit in the back seat while the other instruments shine. While Beyond may separate the hardcore Informatik fans from the rest of the group, there is still much to be enjoyed on this album; the vocals are still as beautiful and unique as ever, while the lyrics still revolve around depressing themes just like in the good ol' days.
