Review Summary: Not for the weak of mind because it is mind blowing.
The Vale Of Shadows is a thrash metal album, yet it is not predictable. The riffs are continually different, pushing songs forward in an unstoppable train of death. You are tied to these tracks, and the metal train is coming to crush your skull - the train is heavy metal just like the tracks. I can’t even pretend that there are negatives to say about these songs, the metal is that potent, that unbreakable. It is an unstoppable, unrelenting force, with unrepentant brutality shoved in your face like a Satanist on a killing spree. There’s nothing than can fully shield yourself from their unholy metallic attack, nothing on Earth, nothing in Heaven.
Literally everything in The Vale Of Shadows is unending head banging ***. The vocals are demonic, my god, the guitarists wank off the entire ***ing time. The drummer must have drank fifty energy drinks to record this album, his patterns are perfectly timed, and that’s with constant, butt wiping blastbeats. When you’re starting to think things might slow down, an inspiring, technical guitar solo will pop up out of nowhere, sometimes interlacing with a blastbeat - it’s invigorating like water on a hot day. Basically, this album is intense, and it’ll feel like you barely survived a car crash whence listening experience becomes complete.
Apparently the extremely varied riffs and earth shattering drums weren’t enough though, they felt the need to add vocals that’ll make you dip your face in a vat of acid. Within the lineup are stomach stabbing gutturals and ear grating shrieks, so dang vicious it’ll be unsettling for children. This album should come with a warning that states it’ll shorten your long life expectancy. I don’t listen to much thrash metal, but this album made me deeply care about thrash metal. These riffs could very well solve world thrash hunger. These types of riffs have definitely been done before, and the songs get a little repetitive obviously, but oh well, grab a beer and cozy up to this unkillable album.
