This is where it began for these Finnish melodeath metallers. Gehenna EP is a solid goth metal album with unconventional, even punkish vocals from singer/guitarist Tuomas Saukkonen, and gripping, raw guitar lines accompanied by haunting synths. The band will never exhibit their goth side like in here on future releases, moving on to melodic death metal, although some of the influences still remain. Although only 6 tracks long, from which 1 is intro and 1 is an interlude, this EP is still worth looking into by anyone into gothic and/or melodic death metal. Maybe a bit short and small for purchasing matters, but worth a few listens anyway.
