Alive is a three-disc box set by English heavy metal singer Bruce Dickinson. It features the singer's 1990's three solo live performances: Alive in Studio A, Alive at the Marquee, and Scream for Me Brazil. It was released on June 21, 2005, just a month after the release of Tyranny of Souls.
The first disc Alive in Studio A, features tracks from his second solo album Balls to Picasso and three tracks from his debut solo album Tattooed Millionaire. Unhappy with the results of recording these tracks with producer Keith Olsen, Bruce started working with Tribe of Gypsies guitarist Roy Z to improve his work which would result in Balls to Picasso.
The second disc Alive at the Marquee, features live songs from Balls to Picasso and Tattooed Millionaire.
The third disc Scream for Me Brazil is most notably the best disc in this set, a live album recorded in S?Paulo, Brazil in 1999. Songs such as the epic 'Chemical Wedding' and the thunderous 'Book of Thel' are played to near perfection and the sound quality is top notch. If you ever want to hear what Bruce is all about live, this is the album to go away and play.
This overall is a slick package of Bruce's live performances throughout his solo career and an essential purchase for any fan.
Standout tracks: 'Chemical Wedding' and 'Book of Thel' from Scream for Me Brazil.
