2.0 poor | AnonymousOne | March 8th 10 | Whirling is what you could call a blend of experimental, avant-garde, with a touch of post-black metal from Germany. there is not a lot of information about the band out, but I was intrigued so decided to give it a try.
I tend to like odd and experimental music. I didn't like this one. I wanted to like this album. While the instrumental work is innovative at points, the guitar tuning itself really starts to grate on you the more you listen to. To be fair to this album and those of you that are really into the avant-garde genre, this might be a good listen.
The first decent song I heard was the third track and after 3 minutes of it I found I didn't enjoy it anymore. After giving the album a double digit number of listens I found that my perception of the album had not improved, but then again it hadn't worsened either.
All-in-all, this is a mediocre addition to the avant-garde genre.
