3.6 great | Erwann S. STAFF | January 17th 25 | The Visitor ventures into diverse electronic soundscapes, yielding a record that, while not his most potent, still retains Kinoteki's captivating production. The footwork tracks lack the hauntological quality of his previous work, but the album's strength lies in its genre-crossing experiments. "Felthurt AM (allnight)" delves into Burialist post-dubstep with a gorgeous vocal sample (whodat??), "Close Yr Mind (Evergreen to Myrtle)" explores French house, while real closer "Stray Dog" delivers an entrancing prog house crescendo. Despite some inconsistencies, these tracks affirm that Kinoteki can't help but create a compelling auditory journey.
