The Coalesce influence is very apparent on this, but they take it into a more atmospheric zone with a lot of the fretwork throughout. It has that stop-start chaos that many enjoy, and it also has very punchy chords that they draw out and repeat for maximum effectiveness and mood.
I absolutely love the drumming in this album. it hits hard, all while standing out amongst the flow of the songs. It's a very fresh approach given to the pick-and-choose stagnancy coming from many bands in 'metalcore'. it is the highlight of the whole album, in my opinion.
I like the vocals as well. They are more or less your standard harsh vocals, but every word is intelligible and forceful at the same time.
