Review Summary: (If you mad i'm not the one that you should blast on, listen i'm so twisted that under my real face I got a mask on) "K-Rino"
Now there is a high chance your thinking, who on earth is K-Rino. Well he's a underground rapper that's been in the game since 1987, rapper Scarface for one has named him as a massive influence. He's a southern rapper from Houston Texas and once you hear some of his work there is no way you won't be amazed. To people that listen to a wide variety of hip hop you have obviously noticed the fact that so many MC's fail to stay relevant throughout a long carrer. But this guy actually seems to have gotten greater with time he always changes subjects and emotions without actually watering down his underground style at all.
He once said "The goal is always to progress and get better with each release. I like to challenge myself and out do my previous CDs. I think that a lot of rappers get caught up in what they did in the past and that stagnates them. What you did in the past means nothing if you can't stay relevant in the present and into the future. It's all about coming up with new topics that the average artist hasn't touched or if they have touched on it, then you have to do it in a way it hasn't been done before. These days everyone copies from everyone else."
The album has one of the best into's ever, it's a descripton of what it means to be underground and loyal and why these rappers choose that rout and it continues with him proving his point. His rhymes are in-depth, complex and descriptive throughout the whole album. The songs on this album range from being socially concious, conceptual storytelling songs and some of the best battle rap songs you will ever hear. When speaking on the album K-Rino said "It's basically talking about how sometimes you feel like you're alone. You may feel like you're the only person who thinks like you think in this game. You're trapped in a state of solitary confinement when everything going on in the outside of those walls of your mind is also there." This concept is excecuted flawlessly and allthough there's many different types of songs and many emotions are felt it all flows together.
A great example of his conceptual storytelling skills would be lyrics from track 10 on the album (Didn't Ask.)
"Man I wish that y'all would stop fussing
Speak to each other with out cussing
And have a grown up discussion
Because ever since the first moment that I got here
The plot turned chaotic and the true reason is not clear
Daddy's going off daily, momma's starting to nag
I felt more comfortable when I was floating in that water bag
Just laying there in serenity
Now anytime you all are in the same vicinity
You go to war like enemies
But the night I was conceived and both of y'all were embracing
I couldn't wait to leave and seek placement
Racing, with millions more chasing
Just anxiously waiting to be placed in that sacred destination
And once I came into fruition and witnessed y'all crying and kissing
I never envisioned I'd be in this position
Proper attention I've been missing
And even though I can't talk yet I still wish somebody would listen"
If I was to say that there were any faults on this album all it would be is the fact that some of the beats are alot better then others but it hardly matters as the production is still good throughout and there aren't any filler tracks imo. The instrumentals, however aren't so great that i'd wanna hear them without his rapping but he makes even the lesser beats seem great as he completely slaughters them. His song (Grand Deception) from the album might be his most well known song, i'd reccomend looking it up on youtube and from there i'm sure you will be intruged to hear the whole album, here is an example.
"You are a tool and the hidden hand is using you
Please don't be delusional
The rulers of this world practice confusing you
The people and the Priest and the Imam's
Have been jammed by government scams
Mind systematically programmed
Blatant black hatred and racism
The way they laced the whole world and nation with traces of Satanism
Misplaces of paganism
The Founding Fathers enslaving
And tensions were no different then Bushes and Reagan's vision
1776 they took action
This Illuminati took form and was spawn from a Colombian faction
Just flip your one dollar bill over
And if you want me to expose the true code of deception, I will show ya
We live in a designed wicked system
The number 13 is consistent in Masonic symbolism
It represents transformation, 12 completes the cycle
So 13 is rebirth and regeneration
The meanings of this symbol are strategically hid
On the left side you see a 13 layered pyramid
Over that, sits the The All-Seeing Eye where the light shines
A sign of the Devil watching over you at all times"
Top 5 songs on the album imo:
1.Grand Deception
2.Didn't Ask
3.Solitary Confinement
4.Forensics
5.Barbewire Discipline
