Review Summary: OFWGKTA's most slept on is something you should warm up to.
If you're on this site, you most likely know who the collective "OFWGKTA" is. There's a problem, though. Most people solely listen to Tyler, the Creator and Earl Sweatshirt. If you guys would quit sleeping on Mike G, you'd realize he's one of the better members of a great group.
Syd tha Kyd, the female member in OF handles the production on Mike's debut album and it's excellent in every way. The silky smooth beats almost blend in with Mike's laid back flow. There's heavy use of synth, mixed in with ambient noises, keys, and really slow drums. Mike G takes advantage of this type of production and flows almost from his subconscious. Think Domo Genesis but slower, yet at the same time it's up tempo. He rarely breaks between words, instead, the words just flow out and blend together. He really encompasses the word "flow". While you won't hear Mike G spit about off the wall topics such as rape and Satanism, he's still very much "Odd". He's the most old school member of the group, packing a great g - funk type flow and lyrics relating to crime, money, ego, rap, sex, murder, and much more:

The song Stick Up is the high point of the album, bringing then 16 year old Earl Sweatshirt on the track to help him paint very vivid image of them robbing a bank/store. It brings some hilarity in during the skits at the beginning and end. The dueling rhymes from Earl and Mike G are excellent and they outdo each other every verse. The beat is really eerie sounding with a constant synth in the background that sets the tone of this 6 minute epic. This song deserves a whole paragraph because it's one of the best OF songs released to date. Most of the songs are on par and follow a similar formula to "Stick Up"
The album is not all good, though. It's really short and leaves you wanting more. Some of the lyrics are sub par and the metaphors and similes aren't up to par with some of the other members of OFWGKTA. These are really minor gripes, though. Mike G is so fun to listen to and may be my favorite member of OF.
Aside from the skit, ThatNiggaTajSpeaks, Mike G is constantly pleasing your ears with nice rhymes and a great flow. He's got features from his OF counterparts and affiliates Hodgy Beats, Earl, Tyler, and Vince Staples to please you users who like OFWGKTA for their rape references. Don't sleep on him, he's a great talent and this album packs loads of entertainment and rewards you for multiple listens.
