Very much a musician's album, might be too trying on the patience of people looking for a hooky pop song, but so fascinating as it doesn't stay in any one place for very long. Perfect for people with low attention spans. My favourite of his - just perfect.

Literally my most favorite musical piece in the world. Sick and tired of being forced to make the bland 80's pop that came with his previous album (Earth Moving), Oldfield makes a stratospheric comeback with this marvelously creative, shockingly different experimental piece. Whether you want a beautiful melody, a searing rock riff, a nice world music backdrop, or some straight-up comedy, it's all in here somewhere. Long live Amarok!
