Proof that maybe you can have too much of a good thing! Captain My Captain often suffers from oversaturating Team Dresch's raw, queer humanity into mere sentimentality, wit or politicking, but hey, 'tisn't BAD sentimentality, wit or politicking! The band's songwriting chops are as sturdy as ever, and in its best moments the performances are energized by a hunger and ambition the smaller-scale Personal Best rarely reached for. Mighty fine punk record all-around, just somewhat less arresting and individual-feeling that the debut is all.
