Review Summary: The fact that Blood on the Dance Floor's fans call this their 'best work to date' makes me want to slam my head into a wall.
No, I'm not joking about that. The only thing worse than Blood on the Dance Floor's old style is their fans, known as the 'Slash Gash Terror Crew'. Ever since they released "Bad Blood", they have been screaming at the duo to go back to their old ways with their notorious sexually explicit and socially unacceptable lyrics. Hopefully, if Dahvie and Jayy know any better, they won't listen to them and will keep going down the path they are on right now. Maybe then, they can make a little switch around with their fanbase to one that isn't full of stupid, arrogant preteens.
Blood on the Dance Floor, when "OMFG Sneak Peak" was released, was Dahvie Vanity and ex-member Garrett Ecstasy, who was kicked out and replaced with Jayy von Monroe because of various reasons. This EP was also before Dahvie Vanity was accused of rape, so there are no songs with Dahvie whining about being called a pedophile or a rapist. To be fair, though, the girl that had accused him had to drop the charges because she refused to use a rape kit, then she made an apology video and stated that the accusation was false. Still, the music that was conceived and put onto this EP is still to be considered as one their worst creations, along with "Let's Start a Riot" and "It's Hard to be a Diamond in a Rhinestone World".
The opening track will definitely push you away even before you start listening to it, as the track is titled "Well Suck Me", and the fact that the song is only a minute and a half long doesn't help anything. The whole song felt like a small sequel to "Scream for my Ice Cream", which was the only reason why they accumulated the fame and fanbase they had in 2009. Next is "I.D.G.A.F.", which probably had the worst rapping I have ever heard, and that is saying something since I have heard Justin Bieber and Will.I.Am rap, and they were both tremenously abysmal. Dahvie even auto-tuned his rapping in the chorus. I don't even see the point in doing so, but apparently he thought his vocals weren't up to par. Then, that's when I ask, "What vocals?" There honestly was no singing throughout the whole song whatsoever, just the sound of two monkeys howling and screaming at each other madly.
"Lookin' Hot Dangerous" has the same amount of spoken lyric as anything else that Blood on the Dance Floor has created before "All The Rage!", but this song includes an actual guitar! I'm sure Mama Vanity would be so proud. "It's Happening" has terrible lyrics as well, but the electronic beats on the track kept me entertained enough to listen through it all.
Anyone with a brain will know that nearly everything that Blood on the Dance Floor released before "All The Rage!" was an atrocity. There are only a couple exceptions to that rule, and even then, they are still bad. As long as they don't return to this style of music, they will still be listenable to me.
Honestly, I'm still not even sure what type of genre their old style was.
