Trying not to sound hyperbolic, this is the greatest album of one of the greatest musicians in all of history. The album flows wonderfully, each and every song is fantastic in its own right, and the lyrics are fantastic (totally spacey and crazy as they may be). Though Hendrix may not be everyone's cup of tea, it is undeniable that this album is fantastic and the man shaped generations of music to come. 4.9/5

A landmark album by one of the greatest guitarists to ever live. This album changed the way electric guitar was played forever, he was the first true guitar hero. Not only a great guitarist but Hendrix was also a great showman. Most of the tracks on this album are timeless and still as amazing today as they would have been in 1967. 'Purple Haze', 'Hey Joe' and 'The Wind Cries Mary' are just three examples of the brilliance on this album.

No one will ever be as good a guitarist as Jimi -- ever. 'Manic Depression,' 'The Wind Cries Mary', etc. lead off his debut (and imo strongest) album. His early death is, even more than Morrison, the biggest tragedy in Rock n Roll history.

Red House: "Cause if my baby don't love me no more,
I know her sister will!" :-) This song is a masterpiece and by itself justifies purchasing this record.

Despite being hailed as a classic by fans and critics alike, and considered a staple of the 60s psychadelic era, Are You Experienced lacks much of the charm and finesse found in hendrix's later works. While many of the songs are interesting on their own, the album's overall ability to hold the listeners attention disintegrates as the songs progress.

Hendrixs' debut album is nothing short of monumental!
Imagine being alive in the summer of '67 and all of a sudden this album is thrown at you....Its groundbreakingly epic to this day, the very album that teaches you how to "really" play the guitar.
I think the album speaks for itself, there is nothing I can say that can further enhance the listening experiance of this album for the listener. It's a real shame we don't get guitar gods like Hendrix today.
