Review Summary: Two of hip hop's most underrated producers collide to create some of the best back pack music.

Handsome Boy Modeling School is a super group experiment of the ultra talented producers known as Prince Paul and Dan The Automator. Prince Paul's main body of work most people would note is his classic status with the hip hop group known as De La Soul and their classic 3 Feet High And Rising. Dan The Automator is most noticeable with the animated group of Gorillaz and their self titled debut.

These two producers are totally different in both styles and flavors but go great together like a strawberry banana shake. This is an album with a old school hip hop vibe but also isn't afraid to show these producers taste with also some bluesy singing to balance things just right.

This is a compilation album that shows their talents when they are fused together and it results to probably the best compilation album ever. The album starts off with a skit of one of the many that are actually funny and entertaining and always ends with a great bang of a hip hop beat.

The first to rock the mic would be the much underrated Del Tha Funkee Homosapien who just murders the track with his animated flow and voice. The music has a cool feel to it and is the kind of music best suitable when walking the earth with both feet and your headphones blasting the music sensation that is H.B.M.S.

The album continues with a sci-fi space pull in and evolves with a piano jingle that ends up with Mike D of the Beastie Boys speaking words instead of busting a flow while Miho Hatori speaks her high pitched gibberish all with a crazy cool beat. All these songs fit perfectly with the atmosphere that Dan and Paul has created.

All the rappers on this album burst out poetry and flow and are most definitely underground. This whole album feels underground which is a good thing by all means. The only real flaw on this album is the loud and kind of annoying last track with El-P. The beat is so loud that you can barely hear what the *** El-P is trying to say.

So...How's Your Girl? is an underrated gem that should be listened by everyone because not only is the production so superb, it also proves that music that is not played on the radio, can be some of the best on this earth. This album is way ahead of it's time and should've been more recognized. This is not just music to listen to, it's an experience as a whole that should be heard by everyone.

Great review, but I wouldn't say Dan and Prince Paul are underrated producers, I would say they're two of the most respected.
