Mixing electronica, alternative rock, and hip-hop in a way comparable to Beck, Quebeckers Bran Van 3000 reached their commercial zenith in 1999 when "Drinking in L.A.", original released two years previously, became one of the more memorable and unlikely one-hit wonders of the decade. They've never reached those heights since, but the band have continued to record intermittently and have maintained a cult fanbase.
